ABOUT ME
I'm David Bradshaw, I am from Washington State and I have lived here my whole life. I was born in 1990 and I currently live in Birch Bay WA. I'm an avid reader, I also enjoy Chess, Meditation, Backpacking, Camping, Hunting, Boxing, and Jiu-Jitsu. I'm a bit of a nerd as well and I build my own desktop computers. I would say the Pasayten Wilderness Area is one of my happy places. To the right (or below on a mobile device) you can see how wonderfully photogenic I am! In case you were wondering, that is in fact sarcasm.
STYLE OF PRACTICE
In the counseling profession there can be wide variation in philosophy and style of practice a Mental Health Counselors uses. The experience in therapy from a clients perspective can vary greatly depending on a counselors theoretical orientation.
I am Adlerian in my theoretical orientation although I do not place any emphasis on birth order. Adlerian therapy, also referred to as Individual Psychology, is a holistic approach counseling. It was first created in the early 1900's by Alfred Adler and has been refined over the years, Adlerian theory was the basis for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Adlerian theory characterizes behavior as purposeful and goal orientated even if we aren't consciously aware of the goal or the purpose. Adlerian theory focuses on an individuals thoughts, and how one understands and interprets the world around them. As well as the impact that early life experiences can have on an individual. Adlerian theory is a psychology of use, most traits or behaviors aren't inherently good or bad, its what do you with them that counts.

Why Teletherapy?
Teletherapy takes place in a secure HIPPA compliant video chat and allows for you to have access to care without the barrier of travel. For teletherapy all you need is a private place where you are comfortable to talk and an internet connection.
A common concern might be that teletherapy is a lesser experience. Research shows that teletherapy is as effective as an in person experience.
